    FAQs

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SENIOR SHOTS SESSION?

We should first think about the vibe of the season. From December to March, the Texas weather can turn chilly, with unpredictable weather. While the cooler weather provides a break from the summer heat, this period might offer a more somber atmosphere.

Most students prefer scheduling sessions between April and October. Remember that September and October are ideal for photography because of the cooler weather. As a result, reservations fill up fast, popular spots become packed, and the environment could be less calm.

By scheduling your session ahead of time before your school yearbook deadline, we can minimize your stress and ensure your photos are the best they can be.

    WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

    * The cardinal rule is: no uniformity, so don't wear the same color or pattern and try to avoid tight/small plaids and stripes.

    * Color warning: Refrain from using bright pink, fuschia, hot pink or orange, and fiery red. Unfortunately, bright, flaming colors do not photograph well digitally. The vividness of the colors in my photographs becomes amplified, dominating the image's central focus.

    * Prioritize solid neutrals. However, refrain from all-black ensembles. While the aesthetic is sleek, the all-black attire appears too conspicuous against a backlit subject, creating a visually unflattering effect. Navy is a great alternative! Greys and browns work out amazingly.

DO YOU OFFER GLAM SERVICES FOR SENIOR SHOTS?

Photography is my sole priority; therefore, I do not engage with hair or makeup professionals. I leave those details up to my clients, as they know which stylists work best for their situation.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR IN INCLEMENT WEATHER?

Don’t forget to wear clothes suitable for Texas weather. Whenever chilly or extremely hot, prioritize comfort. Dress to impress and please - nothing less. Most importantly, don’t leave home without your umbrella when it’s raining. It’s a cute prop that also keeps hair and makeup safe.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?

Although rare, forced cancellations may occur because of extreme weather, usually forewarned by emergency broadcasting and alerts.

However, please be aware: I do photograph on overcast and rainy days. Expecting rain showers is a normal part of life. These conditions add mood and drama to a shoot. As a contingency, we might use overhead shelters or windbreaks during the shoot.

If you prefer a non-rainy or windy day, you can take advantage of the Rain Check Policy. Please see the information on this policy below.

    RAIN CHECK POLICY

If you want to avoid a rainy, windy, or extreme weather day, or if something conflicts with your booked session, you can use this option to reschedule by submitting a notice. The deadline to submit is 3 hours before your scheduled session. Failure to submit the form means we will consider it a no-show cancellation.

    FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
    * You must submit a rain check notice (FYI section) with a new date and time request.
*Once we confirm a new session date is available, we hold that date and then send you a link to pay the new retainer fee. The original session fee transfers over to the new time slot.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    * Please submit your cancellation notice for MINI or MAXI sessions at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled date. For Premium Venues, you must submit your cancellation notice at least 10 days before your scheduled session. This is because these sessions involve coordination with third-party vendors. You will receive a reimbursement of all funds except for the retainer (and /or) venue fees for third-party commitment, which compensates for booking losses from cancellations or no-shows, thus sustaining the businesses.

    * Be aware: we consider same-day cancellations as no-shows and do not refund session/sitting fees, with exceptions for verified situations such as urgent medical needs, a police report, or family bereavement. Not to worry, if a verified unforeseen emergency circumstance arises, we will reschedule if needed. Please note that the retainer and venue fees do not carry over from previous booking for rescheduling.

HOW DO I SUBMIT A CANCELLATION NOTICE?

*To locate the cancellation notice, navigate to the website menu, locate the FYI section, and select the 'cancel notice' from the dropdown menu.
*Once you submit the form, we will process any valid refund due to you accordingly. Refund turnaround timeframes depend on the Stripe payment platform and your financial institution.

    PHOTOGRAPHER EMERGENCIES

If the photographer has an emergency, you will receive a full refund, including the retainer and venue fees (photographer will incurs client cost since the fee is non-refundable and owed to the third-party venue) However, understand that the photographer is not responsible for any client personal expenses, such as travel or grooming appointments made for your session.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE THE IMAGES?

    Retouching & Enhancing Turnaround Timeframes:

Turnaround timeframes are based on a continuously varying workload. I give myself plenty of time after a session for retouching and aesthetic enhancements if needed. My usual procedure is to send a progress email with a link to a preview shot as a courtesy to clients, providing an update and a remaining timeframe estimate.

    Estimated Turnaround Timeframes:
    Mini Shoots > 48 - 72 hours
    Maxi Shoots > 1 week
    Premium Shoots > 2-3 weeks

WHAT IS A PHOTO RELEASE FORM?

Although the photographer holds all creative rights to any photos, we will still need a signed release form, which is a legal document that grants permission for a photographer to use images of individuals for specific purposes. It protects both the photographer and the subject by formally documenting consent.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A RELEASE FORM?

To put it simply, the answer is yes. Even though I own the copyright for the photos I take of you, I still require your signed consent (Under aged will need parental or guardian consent). As a photographer, I will feature and promote portrait galleries, and I will include your photos. Collaboration on a session is contingent upon your signing the form. If you refuse, we cannot go further.
